Through My Eyes, Photography taught to kids at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center

This movie documents "Through My Eyes", a 3 day photography event conducted within Hutch School near the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle Washington.

The children who attend Hutch School are temporarily living in Seattle while they or someone in their family is being treated for cancer.

During this 3-day event, children were introduced to photography. The kids were introduced to the power of "Seeing" with the camera and how sharing what we see helps build community. During the second day, each child was given their own camera and led on "photo safari" around Seattle. At the end of this project, the children were given frames for their photographs and then encouraged to share their framed work with the patients here for cancer treatment.
